First Aid training in Kingston, ON

The government acknowledged first aid training is important to continue during the pandemic with many

protocols.

These courses have hands-on activities so that you learn how to do the skills.  This is why these courses

are not allowed to be done virtually.  During the pandemic, you can choose whether you want to do the

hands-on part or not.  However, if you choose not to do the hands-on part, you need to describe to me

how to do the skill since I still need to know whether you know how to do the skill or not in order to get

your certificate. Frankly, describing the skills to me is harder than actually doing the skills.

Please read this section first before choosing a course and then you register by using the Contact Box

or e-mail me at ingrid.training@gmail.com (giving me the information that I indicated in the

Contact Box).

I am a small business and this is the cheapest way I can set up online payment which benefits both of us.

Methods of payment for individuals--Pay Pal (You do not have to join Pay Pal to pay me online.  You

can use it as a "Guest."  It offers payment options with a credit card as well as debit).

Methods of payment for business--Pay Pal, direct deposit or a business cheque.

There is no refund.   You can reschedule your training once but there will be a rescheduling cost.

If you rescheduled once and you still could not attend the second time, you will lose your spot

and your money.

There is no refund if you failed to show up for your course without prior notice.

These courses will go ahead even when registration level is low.

Attendance requirement set by WSIB:  100%

Please bring a pen and paper. Thanks.

All participants need to wear pants/shorts.

Anyone who can not manage stairs should contact me so that we can discuss our options in order to

meet your needs.

Please inform me if you have a learning disability (what it is exactly and how I can assist you) or physical challenge.

Please choose another training date if you are unable to attend the course for whatever reason.

If you are ill and contagious, please change your training to a different date so that

you are not going to infect other people.

I may postpone the training date when I am sick, or if I have a personal emergency or when the road is

unsafe to travel. I will contact you and we will set up your next training date.  If I postponed your training

date, full refund will be given at your request, if I can not provide you with a sufficient alternate date that

is convenient for you.

Training will not be at Captain Matthew J. Dawe Memorial Branch # 631, because

they are not accepting bookings right now, however the  alternative training site will

be in the west end of Kingston, at my home near the Legion.  I live near Bath Rd and Collins Bay as well as near Bayridge and Taylor Kidd.  I will give you my home

address at least a few days before the course date.  My home is a safe training site

since I follow the Red Cross/WSIB protocols.  Maximum number of people who can

take the course is 4 due to social distancing.

Due to COVID-19, all participants are expected to provide his/her own face mask

which covers the nose and mouth during the course.  Non-latex gloves are

mandatory as well.  If you do not have access to gloves, you will be charged extra.

You will also provide your own hand sanitizer (at least 70% alcohol).

Even though more people are vaccinated please continue to be careful because we

keep entering "waves" if we put our guard down.  Remember that variants continue

to pop up and these variants are more dangerous than the original one. Please

continue to follow the provincial and municipal guidelines.  You must be COVID free when you attend my course.

If COVID cases start to rise and KFLA has more than 15 cases, this usually means

that big cities ie GTA and Ottawa probably have higher number of cases.  So in this

case, the following COVID screening and guidelines will be implemented:

Within the last 2 weeks prior to the date of the course, please do NOT attend my

course IF you have not been following the COVID protocol;  you have been in COVID high risk areas or you were exposed to a person who was in high risk areas; you

have COVID, COVID symptoms or contagious; you had contact with anyone or

cared for a person who had COVID-19.

If you cared for someone who had/has COVID-19 or exposed to someone who

had/has COVID, please get yourself tested a few days prior to the course date,

ensure that you are COVID safe and send the result of that test to my email address

the day before the course date.  You are responsible to ensure you are COVID safe.

Please show me your COVID vaccination proof, or doctor's letter of COVID

vaccination exemption, or negative COVID test result prior to entering the training

site.

Each participant is expected to go through the self assessment tool before the

course (WSIB and Red Cross protocol),  but on the same day of  the course.  Please print it, sign anywhere on the first page which indicates that you are COVID safe,

and hand it in to me. https://covid-19.ontario.ca/self-assessment/.  If you do not

have a printer, please save it on your cell phone and show it to me.   Please be responsible and considerate by not spreading COVID-19.  If you feel ill and/or show infectious symptoms, please notify me immediately and we will reschedule (fee).  Thanks.

WSIB and Red Cross stated anyone who is sneezing, although it may be due to

allergies, can not attend the course, because we can not take any chances.

Please register using the Contact Box below and use the Pay Pal button in the

correct section for the course you would like to take, if you wish to pay me with a

credit card or debit. You do not have to join Pay Pal in order to use this option.   The

Pay Pal button in each section is a generic button for that specific course; therefore, please tell me on which date(s) you are planning to attend.  If you wish to pay via

e-transfer, please send the payment to ingrid.training@gmail.com.  Thank you.

Thanks! Message sent.

CPR C/AED (full and recert) and CPR A/AED (must always take full course)

CPR  C deals with baby, child and adult scenarios.  I teach full and recert course the same way by giving all the information that you need, because I know people forget the information.  Costs are the same as a result whether you take a full CPR C course or a recertification of CPR C.

CPR A deals with adult scenarios.  In Ontario, you are not allowed to take a "recertification" of CPR A, so you must always take the full CPR A course.  It does not matter when you take the course with me, because I teach

it like a full course anyways.

                                                                     (this replaced CPR HCP)

BLS is "The recognition of and initial intervention or treatment given by pre-hospital or in-facility responders to a

patient suffering from cardiac arrest or respiratory arrest."  Team players are expected to play in important roles

in a timely manner in order to save someone's life.   It deals with baby, child and adult scenarios.

According to the Red Cross, the BLS recert is supposed to be 2 hours long which means you just practice the CPR.

There are a lot more than CPR in this course and I do not believe in skipping anything including giving you the

important theory you should know, because I know people forget the information.  Since I want you to know what

you should know, I treat the recert like a full course; therefore, the prices you see in this section are for both full

and recert.

Cost:   BLS + BLS manual -- $62.15 ($55 + HST + BLS manual).  Please use the Pay Pal button in this section to

pay for the course.  This course is 4 hours long.

Just in case you missed it, I noted in BLS and CPR C sections above that I teach the full course and recert the same way for both of these two courses, giving you all the information since I know people forget the information.  So the length of time is the same and the cost is also the same.  Please scroll up to find the appropriate section.
